I am a second year PhD student at the University of Washignton Information School beign advised by Dr. Aylin Caliskan. I use she/her pronouns, and the first syllable of my name sounds like the Greek letter Chi (/kaɪ-rə/).
My research aims to measure and evaluate the performance of AI systems, particularly large language models, in terms of fair and equitable outcomes. Interdisciplinary approaches are important to my work, and I’m particularly interested in devising novel ways to evaluate models that more accurately represent their real-world use.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Linguistics and Computer Science at Carleton College followed by a number of years working with Dr. Alec Marantz studying computational and neurological models of language at New York University Abu Dhabi.
